Can we do something solely for the sake of goodness? Can we separate our instinctive interest vision from any good action we do?

Today more than ever, humans are becoming individualist. For some, it’s the representation of capitalism at a human scale. For others, it’s the virtual world (internet) in which we are living in, that made us become progressively like this. For me, I believe that humanity and sense of kindness are a constant (k=1). No matter how we live or how we express this humanity, there is inside of each of us something great, something pure, and love. Unfortunately, being wrapped up in an increasing sense of individualism, and this depersonalization that the media encourage, we fail at expressing this kindness under its purest form.

The reason why I have chosen this introduction, is because two days ago, I have experienced a pure kindness act that made me think…

The Story : I was smocking my afternoon cigarette with a friend of mine (Baby face (@craig @josh if you are reading this, I know you are smiling)) close to WeWork doors. Two guys, one of them in a wheelchair, asked us for cigarettes. They looked very normal guys. My friend being quicker than me, gave them 2 cigarettes. I, after realizing what was happening, suggested to give them 2 more (pure kindness no intention) because I was very slow at reacting. As if he needed to thank me, one of the guys, handled me a new Victoria Secret perfume (pure kindness no intention). Shocked, I told him that I couldn’t accept, he insisted saying: “you deserve it, that was nice of you”. END

And here I am two days after that still thinking about this “pure kindness/no intention” acts of giving without expecting in return. All this made me think that yes, sometimes, we can let our humanity and kindness express itself in the most authentic way : without thinking. And that we all have this in us, but we are all different at expressing it, which is fine, because there is no good or bad expression of ourself.

So what do you think ? Does Humanity still exist? (I want to know what you think)

This week I couldn’t finish my training fully. However I have learnt sooo many things.

My Second Coding Challenge

I have to admit, this challenge was very very tricky. So, being more familiar with Sublime 3 but still suffering from the “I’ll-press-all-the-buttons” syndrome, I have tried my best to finish the challenge and add the Bonus part. This time I was in charge of creating a landing page with Boostrap, editing it, and create a modal.

I have opened the last challenge code and helped myself with some of the existing code. I also Googled and Youtubed most of the amendments I had to make, which was really helpful. I quickly learnt that if you are stuck, “Google is your friend”.

EP – How to SEO a WordPress Website (Digital Marketer)

This EP took me a lot of time to finish, but I DID IT! I would definitely have to listen to it again once I’ll be mastering all about SEO Health Check tools such as Google Analytics, Google Index, WordPress + Permalinks, SEO plug-ins, Robot.txt … and many more.

In this article, the author is explaining what are the things we should prepare before going for SEO. This part is called the SEO Health Check (pre-SEO), where he goes through all the steps before thinking about a SEO strategy, check-ins and improvement on all the SEO tools.

The second part of this EP, is where we actually have to create our SEO strategy.

The third part is the implementation. According to me, it has been very helpful to understand how SEO is done, with these three steps format.

The Every Week Quicksprout

This week I have read The 5 Stages of Blog Growth: How Your Traffic Tactics Should Change as You Grow from Neil Patel. He explains how in 5 stage it is possible to increase the traffic on your website. Firstly, he explains that it’s important to define your niche (aka who do you want to serve?). Secondly, identify your competitors and read what they are doing. Thirdly, after having your first 100 fans, he argues that it’s important to brainstorm about the content you will “feed them”. The fourth step, is to become profitable with your blog. Last but not least, he described how you can maintain your efforts towards being sustainably profitable.

Thanks for making it this far. Next will be AAWWWWWESOME as well. Stay tuned for my next post !!

I loved the intro Kenza. I did laugh at the baby face comment and I had no idea that the exchanged happened! This is one of the common beliefs that you mentioned in your last article, “reciprocity” in digital marketing. I think that is why content marketing is so successful. A company with knowledge shares that knowledge for the price of your basic contact info.

We then create a relationship by sharing more knowledge and asking for your feedback. Its a beautiful thing that lives almost entirely only.

I DO think humanity still exists. I just think we have evolved. Similar to other points in history we have push aside certain behaviors in favor for things that are more efficient or socially acceptable. Unfortunately these changes have not happened THIS quickly in the course of human history. One that comes to mind is talking. Arguably one of our most powerful inventions our generation hates to verbally talk to each other or strangers for that matter. However we have no problem writing out our thoughts in blog comments. That is a weird paradox 🙂

What do you think is the biggest marketing lesson learned so far? Do you feel any remorse for not giving the cancer sticks faster then baby face?

I kneeeewww you would laugh for baby face !

I agree with you, we have evolved. The ethic and morality are evolving with the time, and we all tend to forget or just adapt to our virtual life. We lack at doing some basic human stuff such as engaging a conversation with strangers for the sake of boringness. Which is too bad because there is nothing more interesting than the exchange of ideas. Reminds me of some carpooling travels I have done when I was in France. You basically spend many hours on the road with someone you don’t know at all, and that you are sure to never see again. The most human reaction was to open up to this person and exchanges facts, ideas, experiences, believes…Indeed, it’s a weird paradox, but I think humans lack at talking to each other or strangers because they are afraid to what the others would think of them, we are afraid to be judged, which is too bad.

Biggest lesson in Marketing : – Marketing is about understanding the other. It’s about having this empathy towards others, that let marketers put themselves in other people’s shoes. There are more quantitative things than we think in Marketing. In fact, few months ago I couldn’t imagine how marketing can be measured or even analysed, I did not even know we could have KPI’s. I like this capacity marketers have to open up themselves to others to the point that they can fully understand what others want or feel, it’s fascinating.

Hahaha concerning the cancer sticks, I am around 4/5 cig per day which is AWESOMMEEEEEE 🙂 No remorse for giving up on baby face, remember thanks to what I could meet baby face? CIG CIG CIG CIGGGGGGG Aka Cancer Stick
