RecruitLoop : The Team Awakens (yes, we survived the holidays) !
Kenza
January 8th, 2016Yes, Team RecruitLoop has survived all these holiday treats, dishes, family conversations…. Soon we’ll all be back at the office ! I really like this “stability” period, where we still, get to digest our holiday meals, and rethink our 2016 resolutions ! Mine are really common:
1/ Quit smocking ! (it gives me good conscious to keep this as my yearly resolution)
2/ Be a better person ! (working on it)
3/ Have the courage to follow the “6 week beach body training” just like Josh ! (you understand what type of courage I am talking about…)
So this week, I have followed a very interesting and very intense training tasks.
1. Kenza’s first coding Challenge
So, I was in charge of making amendments to an email template in HTML and CSS. The most complicated part was understanding how the code editor, Sublime Text 3, works. It took me a few hours going through tutorials, forums and websites to at least open a doc on Sublime Text 3. Once I have dowloaded the editor and gained a basic understanding of how it works, I tried to read the existing HTML code.
-Think as if you were in the cockpit of a plane, and I asked you to take control ? I KNOW YOU would press some colorfull buttons and see what the plane does…I would have done the same.

Well same for coding, my first reaction was to delete some html, save and check on the browser what it does. Once reaching the point where you understand what is the <body>, <h1> and <a href>, then you can make amendments on the original code. Easy peasy….
2. Quicksprout posts
Quicksprout is a blog made by Neil Patel. He’s a top influencer on the web in terms of Marketing Content. As part of my training, I had to read two of Patel’s posts and comment on them. My first post was 7 Psychological Principles to Get More Engagement on Social Media. I have chosen this article because I was curious to see if there was a positive correlation between Psychology and Marketing. In this article Patel is describing 7 basic psychological principles that can bring more engagement from your clients, on your social media. From Reciprocity principle to the Ben Franklin effect, passing through the mere exposure theory, it’s important for a Digital Marketer to think about all these principles when creating content.
For the second article, I wanted to see what is the relationship between the content you are producing and the sales leads that you can get. Neil Patel in his article (5 Ways to Use Content to Get More Sales), talks about Content marketing being arguably the most effective type of marketing at our disposal today. Breaking it into 5 different ways, Patel, reminds us how Webinars, the help of influencers, email type sales funnel, the different types of content, and content on blogs can make you company reach subscribers, thus potential leads.
And what I really like about Patel, is that he uses very easy words and all the post seems to be flowing.

(Yes, Patel is good !)
3. Digital Marketer Post
This week I had an EP on “How to SEO a WordPress Website“. But before going directly to the EP, I have chosen to read a very interesting post on 5 On-Page SEO Factors in WordPress. This article explains that there are 5 on-page SEO factors you need to consider while creating blog posts or pages on your website. But before starting, it’s important to install plug-ins such as Yoast SEO plug-in for WordPress (WordPress seems to be the perfect CMS.) Thanks to this plug-in, we can optimize our visibility online. In this article 5 On-page SEO factors are described. They explain how and why, the optimization of the slug, the body text, the images, the title tag and the meta description can increase our visibility online, and thus our leads.
I haven’t finished the EP yet, but so far, I have seen that we can link Google Analytics, Webmaster tools, many plugins to WordPress to do a better job on SEO. I have also understood that SEO should be part of a larger marketing strategy, and that just creating content is never enough to get leads. And this post describes the steps to follow to prepare, create and implement a SEO plan on WordPress. It is divided into three different steps, being 1/ What tools do you need to do SEO on WordPress, 2/ Steps to create your SEO plan and finally 3/ How you can implement this plan.
Thanks for making it this far. Next week I have another Coding challleeeennngeee yeayyy and many interesting things to learn !!! (it’s a landing page…). Stay tuned for posts from my next weeks !!!! (a special thank you for the ones who understood my Star Wars reference in the title #nerd).
